What’s New in "Recent Advances?"

The ABAI Recent Advances (RA) module is an "open book" single-best answer multiple choice examination administered via the Internet on the ABAI Web Portal. The RA Module, an MOC Part II requirement for diplomates, was updated for 2011 with new user-friendly features. A shorter 30-question format has been implemented with references to each question provided. This streamlined educational resource offers diplomates a more focused way to work through the literature with the added convenience of saving work and finishing the module at one's desired pace within the deadline for completion.

Examination items test clinically-relevant concepts based on recent findings in professional literature. The module must be completed once every five years during the MOC cycle. ABAI Diplomates need to demonstrate knowledge about evolving biomedical, clinical and cognate sciences and their application in patient care. Sponsored by ABAI, the RA module is offered twice per year according to the schedule listed below. Takers have six weeks to complete the module, and a score of 80% correct must be achieved to pass. Although the RA module must be passed in order to be completed, there is no restriction on the number of attempts as it is primarily designed to be an educational tool.

Earn CME Credits for successful completion of the RA Module

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology designates this educational activity for a maximum number of 6.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians who pass the RA module should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Register for the RA module via the ABAI Web Portal. The next registration period is from January 1st through March 31st.
