ABAI congratulates Dr. Luz Fonacier for her leadership and vision as President of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).

Dr. Fonacier is the current Chair of the ABAI Board of Directors, and was recently recognized for her distinguished service as President at the ACAAI 2021 Annual Scientific Meeting in New Orleans. She expertly served as a leader in both organizations addressing unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic.

ABAI also congratulates incoming ACAAI President Dr. Mark Corbett. Dr. Corbett is a former Chair of the ABAI Board of Directors and has most recently served on the ABAI Test Writing Committee and provided multiple presentations at national meetings assisting diplomates in the successful navigation of continuing certification programs.

ABAI has long valued its close relations with all sponsoring specialty societies and the many volunteer leaders who promote communication and collaboration through dual service.

The theme for this year's meeting was "Promoting Innovation and Diversity", with practical podium to practice information and scientific breakthroughs. The meeting also included a well-attended ABAI booth coordinated by the expert ABAI staff led by Chelsey Williams. Dr.'s Michael Nelson, Wanda Phipatanakul and Giselle Mosnaim presented an ABAI workshop moderated by Dr.'s Ted Freeman and Jay Lieberman. In addition to addressing questions from the audience, this workshop provided attendees with a CAP overview and reviews of the CAP 5-year cycle summative scoring, as well as an update on the CAP Progress Meter, which is available on each diplomate’s individual portal page. The meeting also included a review session for the CAP 2021 Block 2 articles.
