ABAI honors departing Directors

In November 2017, the ABAI held its annual fall board meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After two consecutive days filled with meetings, the directors were able to discuss and implement new and exciting changes to the MOC program that are coming up in 2018. The ABAI also bid farewell to the following directors; David I. Bernstein, MD; Joshua A. Boyce, MD; William K. Dolen, MD and Calman Prussin, MD, who have all served in multiple roles over their six-year terms on the Board.

Dr. Dolen, of Augusta University, was a member of the Nominating, Maintenance of Certification, and Ethics and Professionalism Committees.

Dr. Boyce, of the Brigham and Women's Hospital, worked as Certification Examination Co-Chair. He was a member of Finance and Audit, Nominating, Maintenance of Certification, Part IV Activities for Physician Investigators and Academic Leaders, Conjoint Standards and Ethics and Professionalism Committees.

Dr. Bernstein, of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, served as the 2017 Chair of the ABAI Board of Directors. He was a member of the Finance and Audit, Personnel, Nominating, Continuous Assessment, President Search, Maintenance of Certification, Ethics and Professionalism, and Part IV Activities for Physician Investigators and Academic Leaders Committees.

Dr. Prussin, formerly of the National Institutes of Health, was Chair of the ABAI Board of Directors, as well as Maintenance of Certification Examination Co-Chair. He was an active member of Finance and Audit, Personnel, Nominating, President Search, Maintenance of Certification, Conjoint Standards, and Ethics and Professionalism Committees.
