Patient and Physician Peer Assessment (PAPPA) Module

Candidates can complete either the PAPPA Module, the ABMS Patient Safety Improvement Program, or the Asthma Practice Improvement Module (PIM) for this component of the MOCİ process.

PAPPA Module
Please print and return the Registration Form (pdf) with the fee of $175 to ABAI.

  • Phone Survey - Patients and peers of the candidate rate the doctor on professionalism and communication skills via an automated phone survey.
  • Results - Once a sufficient number of surveys have been completed, the candidate will receive a confidential and anonymous aggregate report of the results and a national rating for comparison. There is no pass/fail standard for the surveys, simply complete or incomplete.
  • Quality Improvement Plan - After reviewing the results, the candidate must submit a Quality Improvement Plan in order to complete this component of the Recertification/MOC© process.

If the PAPPA module is not completed, the candidate will not receive a certificate or notification of the Final Examination results.
